This is a rare find. The hand woven, open- weave straw base is one from my collection of vintage straws from the early 2000's.
The rare quality of this is that you are seen through the straw. It's magic.
The color is natural straw. Trim is a hand-dyed cream silk ribbon and a cream flower. This will complement many beautiful outfits.
The brim measures 6 inches from the base of the hat to the edge.
The straw was steamed to perfect the shape. A head size band was inserted to keep it from stretching. The brim was not wired to emphasize the beauty of the straw. I did use a special hat stiffening agent to keep it firm and protect the straw.
This hat is very light weight and will be a pleasure to wear.
It fits a head that measures 22.5 to 22.75.
